Search Engines Team up to Improve Accuracy

To perform a web search, you type in what you’re looking for. Google, Bing, and Yahoo match those words to words they find in websites, and return their results accordingly. The problem is, not all of the words in your website are readable by search engines. For example, if you’re site is mainly stored in a data base, an increasingly common situation, that information can’t be read by the search engines.

The big three are now offering web builders a way to code sites so this information can be read, and that will improve the chances of your site being found and listed in search results.

If you are part of our Internet Marketing or SEO program, we will be adding these codes to your sites in the weeks ahead. If not, and your site relies on data basing, you need to talk with us, or your web builder to have your site updated.

This is a great idea by the search engines, and it will improve results for the user. It will, however, penalize those who aren’t keeping their websites up to date.

It’s just another reason why it’s important to partner with an SEO and/or Internet Marketing company if you want people to find you on the web.
